The Artryst is my tryst with art. Painting is my passion that started as a hobby. The first few paintings were done with watercolours which then evolved to the use of acrylics. It all started with a fondness for photography. My wife is from the mountains and we would visit her family once a year. I had just bought myself a new camera that I was eager to use. My very first watercolour painting was painted from a photograph I took from my father-in-law’s stationary shop window in the hills.

This was the start of using my camera to capture a landscape and then convert it to a painting. I paint landscapes, flora, and fauna as well as cityscapes. Sometimes my paintings include abstracts that reflect my views on reality and occasionally music.

My artwork is a fine example of visual vocabulary – such that I leave it to the viewer’s imagination to interpret it. My detail for near perfection is reflected in cityscapes so much so that from a distance the paintings appear almost like photographs. My effort to ensure I capture the shadows and the light of the cityscapes is a testament to the attention to detail I like to give every painting of mine.

For me art is inspirational. Sitting down to paint is therapeutic for me and can change my moody in an instant. I hope my pieces of art can have the same effect on the people who buy my art.

My passion for painting is based on the mantra that art in whatever form around us can be transformed into a magical display of colour and visual feast for the eyes. As an incoming artist, I am here to inspire and awe art lovers from all walks of life. The Artryst is my e-platform through which I intend to showcase my creative endeavours and love for acrylic-based painting.

I welcome you to take a look around my website and my e-shop. If you are after an original, let’s talk. All the pieces sold on my website through the e-shop are high resolution canvas prints.

Imagine recreating your favourite landscape into an exquisite piece of acrylic art. My custom made paintings transform your personal living space into a unique gallery of acrylic paintings.
